Visual Overlays Free v1.2.0

Visual Canvas Badges

Lightweight, non-destructive floating badges rendered directly adjacent to text elements on your Figma canvas.

See contrast ratings directly on your artboard

Switching your eyes back and forth between a plugin window and your artboard creates cognitive friction. TintSense Canvas Badges project contrast status directly into your design context, pinning a clean status tag beside every evaluated text element on the Figma canvas.

Viewport-Aware Performance Engineering

Rendering hundreds of persistent frames on a Figma canvas can degrade frame rates and clutter complex documents. TintSense uses SmartBadgeRenderer with a pool cap of 20 badges, rendering only the elements currently inside or near your active Figma viewport. As you pan and zoom, badges smoothly reposition and recycle without stutter.

What Canvas Badges Display

ANATOMY OF A TINTSENSE CANVAS BADGE NON-DESTRUCTIVE OVERLAY
4.8:1 AA PASS
2.3:1 FAIL
Lc 64 APCA

Badges clearly communicate numerical contrast ratio, pass or fail status, and APCA lightness contrast (when enabled in settings).

Key Characteristics

  • Completely Non-Destructive: Badges are created in a dedicated overlay group. They never alter your component layer hierarchy or dirty your Figma undo history.
  • Instant Toggle: Turn badges on or off with a single click in the header toolbar or from Mini Mode.
  • Click to Select: Clicking a badge on the canvas automatically focuses and selects its corresponding source text layer.
  • Auto-Clean on Close: Closing the plugin or switching documents immediately removes all badges from the document tree, leaving your Figma file clean.

How to use in Figma

  1. Perform a scan of your frame or selection.
  2. Click the Eye icon (Toggle Badges) in the top toolbar.
  3. Zoom into your artboard to view real-time badges floating alongside your headings, buttons, and captions.
